Creating Leaders has supported this client for more than 9 years , having delivered long term programs to their top 100 executives, including the chairman and CEO. We are a regular speaker at their national and state based conferences on topics of supporting and delivering a great leadership culture.
The Brief
Creating Leaders was approached by the Chairman and CEO to construct a program that would increase the strategic thinking of their next level of incoming management. With a clear problem of generational change in their leadership ranks, they identified a shortfall in the skills of the next generation to underwrite continued strong growth.
The Solution
Creating Leaders designed and has delivered numerous iterations of their core leadership skills program. Originally dubbed their “Emerging Leaders Program” we were approached to rebrand it as their “Essential Leaders Program” as many existing senior management wanted (and needed) to benefit from it.
The program, run in groups of 15 people selected from throughout Australia, is run over ten days in an eight month period, often being delivered in different cities to reflect the national spread of their offices. It covers the core fundamentals of great leadership including communications and self awareness skills, leadership behaviours, performance management, time productivity, building teams, change management and strategic thinking.
The program is supported by a range of assessments that participants undertake and our one on one Executive Coaching as well as an established Mentor Program.
The Outcome
In an extremely challenging market, the business has cemented itself as the dominate player in Australia, having had both extremely strong turnover and profit growth. In addition, it has strategically expanded geographically through acquisition and has diversified into several new product offerings. Creating Leaders are considered very much an in-house supplier and the range and nature of our work within the business continues each year.

We were originally approach by this industry body to provide a Team Building Workshop by their Queensland Executive Director which we undertook in April 2010
The Brief
The Queensland Executive Director who was new to the job wanted to enhance an already strongly performing team and create a greater sense of team and contribution to exceed previous performance – to make her mark as a newcomer to this role, and to the National Executive.
The Solution
Creating Leaders designed a full day seminar for the team to develop team norms that each member was prepared to commit to, conforming around the seven key attributes of High Performance Teams. This was a very interactive workshop with the participants having to drive many of the outcomes and resulting action steps.
The team developed a very clear Charter of Behaviour to which each member has both committed to and is assessed by, that underwrites continuous quality performance and outcomes. Each member keeps each other committed to these behaviours.
The Outcome
Noticing a markedly increase in both financial performance and staff engagement from his Queensland business, the national CEO sought reasons for this improvement. Becoming aware of work and involvement of Creating Leaders, we were appointed to expand the process to each team throughout Australia (every mainland capital and several teams within Head office) to replicate the stronger focus and energy that comes from higher performance teams.
We continue to work closely with this business on a national basis.
